How do I deactivate or permanently delete my account?

First, it's important to understand the difference between deactivating and deleting an account.

  • Deactivation (Currently Unavailable): This is a temporary action. Your profile and content are hidden from the platform, but your data is saved. You can reactivate your account later by simply logging back in.

  • Permanent Deletion: This is a permanent and irreversible action. All of your data, including your profile, posts, comments, likes, and follower lists, will be permanently erased. This data cannot be recovered.

How to Request Permanent Account Deletion

At this time, account deletion is a manual process handled by our support team to ensure the security of your account. If you are certain you want to permanently delete your account, please follow these steps carefully.

Step 1: Contact Support via Email

Compose an email and send it to our support team at support@aetherl.ink.

Step 2: Use Your Registered Email Address

For security and verification, you must send this request from the email address that is currently registered to your AetherLink account. We cannot process requests sent from any other email address, as we cannot verify your ownership of the account.

Step 3: Include the Necessary Information In Your Email

To help us process your request efficiently, please include the following details in your email:

  • Subject Line: Please use a clear subject, such as "Account Deletion Request".

  • Your Username: Clearly state your AetherLink username (e.g., @your_username).

  • Reason for Deletion: Please provide a brief reason for your decision to delete your account. Your feedback is valuable and helps us understand how we can improve AetherLink for our community.

What Happens Next?

  1. After receiving your request, our support team will send a confirmation email to your registered address to verify that you initiated this action.

  2. You must reply to this confirmation email to finalize the deletion process. This is a final safeguard to prevent unauthorized deletion of your account.

  3. Once you confirm, your account and all associated data will be scheduled for permanent deletion from our systems. This process is irreversible.
