How do I customize my profile?

Your AetherLink profile is your personal space to express yourself. Customizing it with a unique avatar, banner, and bio helps others recognize you and learn a little more about who you are.

Step 1: Access Your Profile Settings

On Desktop

  1. Click on your profile icon in the main navigation bar.

  2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.

  3. Ensure you are on the Profile tab, which is the default view.

On Mobile

  1. Click on the hamburger button in the main navigation bar.

  2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Customize Your Profile Elements

On the Profile settings page, you can change several key parts of your public profile:

  • Avatar: This is your main profile picture, displayed in a circle next to your posts and on your profile page.

    • Click the blue Change button next to "Avatar" to upload a new image from your device.

    • Tip: For best results, use a square image.

  • Banner: This is the large header image that appears at the top of your profile page, giving it a personalized look.

    • Click the blue Change button below your current banner to upload a new one.

    • Tip: A wide, rectangular image (like a landscape photo) works best here.

  • Display Name: This is the name that appears above your posts and on your profile. You can change this at any time by typing a new name into the "Display Name" field.

  • Bio: Your bio is a short description of yourself that appears on your profile page. It's a great place to tell people about your interests or what you post about. You can edit this in the "Bio" text box.

  • Links: Have a personal website, portfolio, or another social media profile you want to share? Add the full URL (e.g., https://aetherl.ink/) into the "Links" field to display a clickable link on your profile.

Step 3: Save Your Changes

After you've finished making your edits, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the blue Save Changes button.

Important: Your changes will not be applied until you click "Save Changes." If you navigate away from the page without saving, your edits will be lost.
