How do I change my email or username?

Thank you for your interest in managing your AetherLink account details. We are constantly working to improve the user experience, and your ability to control your account information is a key part of that.

Please read the information below regarding our current capabilities for changing usernames and email addresses.

Changing Your Username

At this time, it is not possible to change your unique username (e.g., @your_username) after you have created your account. Your username is your permanent, unique identifier on AetherLink.

What should I do if I really need a different username?

While there is no self-service option to change your username in the settings at this time, we can process a change for you manually in certain situations. To request a username change, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact Support via Email: Send an email to support@aetherl.ink.

  2. Use Your Registered Email: For verification purposes, you must send the email from the address currently associated with your AetherLink account. Requests sent from other email addresses cannot be processed.

  3. Include the Following Information:

    • Your current username (e.g., @your_username).

    • The new username you would like to have.

    • A brief reason for the change request (e.g., privacy concerns, rebranding, fixing a typo).

Our support team will review your request. Please note that the change is subject to the availability of the new username.

Changing Your Registered Email

The email address you use to sign up is permanently linked to your account and cannot be changed through settings or by support at this time. Please ensure you maintain access to this email address, as it is required for password resets and important account notifications.

A Note on Your Display Name

While your unique @username requires a manual change for now, you can change your Display Name at any time! This is the name that appears on your profile and next to your posts. You can update it by going to Settings > Profile and editing the "Display Name" field.
